About us

Our mission

CD3’s mission is to bridge the gap between academic innovation and the pharma industry by transforming innovative scientific discoveries into new medicines to address unmet medical needs.

Working closely with academic researchers and spin-off companies, CD3 provides investment, expertise and state-of-the-art infrastructure to advance promising research into drug candidates, creating value for all stakeholders.

By accelerating the journey from scientific innovation to therapeutic application, CD3 enables the creation of spin-off companies and licensing opportunities for the pharma and biotech sector, helping bring new treatments to patients worldwide.

Our way of working – Co-creation

Translating academic discoveries into therapeutics requires more than scientific excellence. Groundbreaking ideas and early-stage research often lack the infrastructure, expertise, and capital needed to bridge the gap between discovery and development. CD3 was established to address this challenge by integrating drug discovery capabilities with dedicated investment support.

Our approach is highly collaborative and partnership-driven. Projects originate from academic institutions or biotech innovators, and are advanced along the preclinical pipeline through co-creation and shared leadership. CD3 contributes drug discovery capabilities and expertise, investment, strategic project management and business development with access to an extensive network. Progress is guided by data-driven decision-making and assessed against predefined milestones, ensuring alignment of objectives and balanced risk-sharing, while creating sustainable value through licensing partnerships, company creation, and routes to commercialisation.

CD3’s drug discovery activities are centralized within CD3 Labs, a fully integrated drug discovery centre that brings together specialized scientific expertise, experienced project teams, and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. Through CD3 Labs, we advance innovative small molecule and biologics programmess from early discovery toward tangible development opportunities. Complementing these capabilities, CD3 also operates as an investment fund, providing the financial commitment required to support high-risk, early-stage innovation and co-investing in promising spin-offs and emerging biotechnology companies.
