Each year, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infection causes an estimated 3.6 million hospitalizations and approximately 100.000 deaths in children under 5 years of age worldwide. Effective antiviral treatment options are still limited. CD3 and KU Leuven are developing broad-spectrum small-molecule antivirals against RSV by inhibiting the viral RNA polymerase.
